As a reporter/ journalist you may be limited in what you can write for your home outlet. Or maybe you just want to write something different. We get it. That shouldn’t stop a good story from being told.
The people of Connecticut deserve high-quality investigative journalism. To that end, Inside Investigator offers a new fellowship every month, paying $3,000 to a single writer (we will offer more as money allows) to write a single investigative piece that will be featured in the Inside Investigator. Pitches are accepted on a rolling basis.
Because we are committed to fostering better journalism across Connecticut, all applicants will get access to an exclusive networking group and job board to learn from and with other reporters in Connecticut.
Journalists selected to receive the fellowship will get access to an even more exclusive group and career support. If your pitch is selected, you will also receive access to our creative and editorial team throughout the process of writing your story. Our team will help you develop and present your story to our audience with unique visuals, video support, media promotion, and editorial collaboration.
We support better journalism and want to allow more journalists to tell important stories. It’s part of who we are. Want to donate to expand our fellowship program? Click here.
If you have a story you want to tell, pitch us using the form. Please indicate if your proposal is time-sensitive and tell us what timeline you would require.
A few legal disclaimers:
- We might already be looking into the topic you want to write about. Submission of a pitch is not a claim of exclusive rights to a story. If we are working on a similar topic, we may choose to reach out to collaborate.
