The National State Auditor’s Association (NSAA) has a new president and it’s a name that might be familiar to Connecticut residents.
CT Auditor John C. Geragosian will serve as the head of the national organization for its 2022-2023 session.
“I’m humbled and honored that my colleagues elected me as their president. State auditors
are coping with added oversight demands due to recent significant increases in federal Covid
Relief, American Rescue Plan, and infrastructure funds,” said Geragosian in a statement on Tuesday. “We are also struggling to recruit and retain employees due to these and other demands. I look forward to working with my NSAA colleagues and federal partners to address these and other accountability issues.”
Geragosian is joined by auditors from Michigan, Idaho, Washington, South Carolina, and Florida as members of the new leadership.
The NSAA is a national organization “dedicated to improving state government by providing opportunities for the free exchange of information and ideas and promoting accountability, transparency and the observance of professional audit standards.”
State auditors provide non-partisan oversight for state governments across the country and provide regular, publicly available reports. You can view the CT auditor reports here.
